Sisters in Spirit

Brigitte found a friend rather quickly...

They could easily be sisters, although they come from different European roots. Brigitte is borrowing one of Kirsten's dresses, just to see how it would fit. It is about 1/2" wide, but the apron makes taking in the waist in the back rather easy. The dress is a bit long, but Kirsten's seem a tad short to me, so maybe they balance each other out!!?!!

I tried to post this blog post from Flickr, and had written 3 or 4 paragraphs about this new girl, but when I attempted to post, it didn't work! It looks like Blogger has decided I need to try out the new app, but maybe Flickr isn't ready yet.  Oh, well.

I love my Natterers, and have been thinking that they needed a friend who was "similar, but different."  I've admired Kathe Kruse dolls off and on for a few years, but I hadn't stumbled across "just the right one" until I saw this little darling on eBay for a low opening bid.  I debated for some time before I finally decided to give it a shot.  It's been a long time since I've bid on eBay, let alone won any auctions!  I guess I'm usually a BIN person!

I was really excited to win Brigitte, and even more delighted when she arrived on Wednesday!  Her face is even sweeter in person.  Her soft cloth body is cuddly, and she has just the right amount of "floppiness" and just stiff enough for "posability."  She is larger than my Natterers, but shorter than my Kidz and AG girls.  I need to stand her next to Mindy, my Sasha, to see how they measure up.  I think Mindy is thinner, but I'm not 100% sure.   I found and ordered a couple tee shirt packs and some tennis shoes that should be coming this week.  I'm going to see if she can wear anyone else's shoes or it I am going to have to just order KK shoes, or experiment to find the best fit.  I am hoping to find time to make her some cute, bright, playful shorts and pinafores for her summer play wardrobe. 

I think Brigitte is actually her middle name.  I hope she tells me her first name soon!

Blue eyed pouters

Can you figure out why my blue eyed girls look so pouty? Could it be because it was going to be 90 degrees and it is only April? Could it be because the weatherman has said that it will be cool and rainy this weekend? Or maybe it is just because they have to stand still to get their picture taken when they'd rather play?
Heather, Amelia and Mary are my newest Kidz n Cats girls, who have been sneaking in over the past month or so. It is hard to resist paying their travel fees when there are really good sales to be had! Heather and Ameila are still wearing what they had on when they arrived - maybe that's why they are pouting. Mary had to change her clothes - a heavy coat and thick tights just was too warm for this year's early Spring. She's wearing an Our Generation outfit - the pants have a saftey pin in back - I hope it isn't poking her - maybe that's why she's pouting!
I have a feeling these little blue eyed pouters might be able to twist me around their little fingers!

Ellie and Alvina wish you all a blessed Easter! They had a hard time picking out what to wear for church - it was in the low 30's when we were getting ready, but the forecast called for highs in the 60's! They enjoyed dying eggs when we got home. They were such good girls, making pretty eggs, but not getting any dye on their good dresses.
