A Doll A Week 49/52: Ginger Brook Hollow Suzannah

Ginger Brook Hollow Suzannah, originally uploaded by JLP2000.

Little Suzannah arrived on Monday this week. "She is an excellent seamstress for a girl and is always creating things to share with others. She likes to visit Harold’s store sometimes when she has some pennies. There she will buy gumdrops, one of each color. She especially likes the purple ones. Suzannah is the peacemaker who has stopped many disagreements with a positive word or change of subject. She chooses to see the good side of people and be positive. This is probably why she always looks happy." Here's a secret: she likes to make teeny tiny little dolls that sleep in half a walnut shell that she carries in her pocket! Isn't that neat?
Another thing I'm thrilled about is how this dress I made 5 years ago for a doll I no longer have fits her perfectly! She is going to be a lot of fun to sew for, play with and take along on trips!

Suzannah is my very favorite Ginger Brook Hollow doll! I have the 17 inch doll and my granddaughter has the 8 inch and she will get 8 inch Johannah for Christmas.

It's so nice to see other GBH collectors out there. :) Enjoy her!

Hi Bama - I love your blog with the GBH dolls. I might bring a 17" Suzannah home next year. They are so adorable. Your granddaughter is going to have a great Christmas.

Hi Miss Glays - Thanks for the compliment on her dress. I've made another one using the same pattern (stay tuned) and have another one cut out. One of my favorite styles...
